IMPORTANT- FROM OCTOBER TO APRIL THE HOTEL WILL BE RUN AS A GUEST HOUSE. LIMITED STAFF, RESTAURANT WILL NOT BE OPEN, CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST ONLY, BAR SOMETIMES CLOSED. THIS TIME OF YEAR THE HOTEL WILL HAVE VERY FEW GUEST. HEAED INDOOR POOL AVAILABLE. PRICES ARE REDUCED BY 45% DURING THIS PERIOD.
The building was originated as a private guest house, known as Blenheim, in the late 1800s by members of the Court of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. It was converted soon after this period and was called The Blenheim Guest House.
The Nightingale is named after "Ode to the Nightingale" written by English poet John Keats (1795-1821) who is said to have found inspiration in Shanklin.
At our Victorian Dining Room, with its exclusive dark décor, guests may enjoy the finest quality foods, all locally sourced, cooked and plated to perfection by our talented Chefs. Open to Non-Residents.
October 2016/17, our restaurant was awarded an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence. We are proud to be few on the Isle to receive this recognition. At The Nightingale we aim to cater imaginatively for all our guests, so as well as fish and meat courses we provide vegetarian and gluten-free options.
